Occasionally, our gastroenterologists and urologist require a closer look into the body through a minimally invasive surgical procedure known as gastrointestinal endoscopy. At Clinical Associates, we offer endoscopy at our own safe and convenient outpatient surgery facility - our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located in Towson, Maryland.

Because endoscopy is minimally invasive surgery, patients generally receive conscious sedation to alleviate discomfort. Through endoscopy, your physician inserts an endoscope, a rigid or flexible tube that allows for visual inspection via a camera, into your body. From the endoscope's images - viewed through an eyepiece or on a television screen - a better diagnosis can be made.
